Abstract Submission Guidelines :

Instructions for Abstract Content:

  • Limit to 250 words.
  • Figures, tables and graphs should NOT be included in Abstract.
  • Use generic names of drugs.
  • In original research, the results have to be submitted with the abstract.
  • No references are needed with abstract submission.

Structure of Abstracts:

  • Introduction / background.
  • Aim & Objectives
  • Materials & Methods.
  • Result
  • Conclusion

Poster presentation will be in an electronic poster (E- Poster), with maximum of five slides. Other details will be intimated along with the notifications to the authors.

ALL ARE HEREBY INSTRUCTED TO SEND ABSTRACTS IN ABOVE SAID FORMAT. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION OF YOUR ABSTRACT.

Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting Abstract:

  • Conference Registration is Mandatory for any abstract submission.
  • Only registered ISA members and registered PG students (ISA members) are allowed to submit the abstract for the Paper/Poster presentation.
  • Only the members of Gujarat state branch, ISA and PG Students from Colleges / Institutions of Gujarat State, are eligible for competition, for any presentation during conference.
  • The abstract for the Verbal, Free E-Paper, E-Poster need to be brief - not more than 250 words.
  • The first author will be the contact person for all the correspondence about the presentation.
  • All abstracts are to be submitted in English only.
  • Please mention the Category for which the author is competing for.
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the conference website only. No Physical papers are accepted.
  • The title should be short and concise.
  • The abstract should not contain broad statements like "The results will be discussed".
  • You may use standard abbreviations; however mention unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word, when it appears for the first time.
  • Use numerals to indicate numbers, except when beginning the sentences.
  • Case reports are generally not accepted unless they bring significant and novel biological information; they will be converted to E-Poster presentations.
  • Please do not submit abstract under more than 2 categories.
  • Please provide your current working Email ID along with Mobile number.
  • By submission of an Abstract, the author transfers copyright ownership to the organizing committee for publications. The Organizing committee reserves the right to reproduce the abstract/presentation made in conference in print or electronic media.
  • Abstracts/papers previously published or presented at any national or international conference are not permitted.
  • The Scientific committee will review the abstracts & the acceptance will be communicated to the presenting author by 15th September 2023.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate a session time or change the presentation type.
  • For all paper presentation, the time allocated for presentation is 7 minutes and 2 minutes for discussion. For case report/E-Poster presentation, time allocated for presentation is 5 minutes followed by 2 minutes for discussion.

We encourage original research work. All abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of experts and then would be accepted as Specific Award Category Presentation, free paper/poster presentations during ISACON GUJARAT 2023.

Guidelines for E-Poster session:

  • The slide should contain the logo of ISA apart from their institutional logo. No other logo is allowed to include in the slides.
  • Presentation should include in the prescribed format for that category such as introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and references.
  • Presentation should be restricted to 5 min only. Further 2 minutes is fixed for assessing and questioning by the judges.
  • Time limit should be followed strictly.
  • Size of the E-Poster
  • The format/size of the E-Posters should be in PowerPoint, Landscape, one slide only, which should be in 16:9 ratio.
  • To be of value, your E-Poster should not be too cluttered. It should be set out in a clear and logical manner, with reading matter reduced to an essential minimum.
  • Lettering, including figure legends, labelling, symbols & graphs etc, should be large enough to be legible when viewed on a 50" screen. Ordinary type-face is NOT adequate.
  • Drawings, diagrams and photos are extremely helpful and often necessary to display results and conclusions.
  • Make sure that your illustrations are easy to understand; do not overload any chart or drawing with information.
  • Recommended Font Sizes and Styles:
  • You should use dark text colours on a light background, or vice versa. Recommended fonts are Calibri, Verdana and Arial, as these are easy to read and It’s possible that other fonts may have cross-operating system display issues.
  • Title: 50 – 60 pt (font size), although if you have a long title, you may find a need to use a slightly smaller font size.
  • Authors and institutions: 30 – 36 pt. Main text: 32 – 36 pt, although 28 pt or even 24 pt could be used in isolated areas, or if you have a very large amount of text.
  • References / Bibliography: 24 – 32 pt.
  • Videos & animations are not allowed in your E-Poster.
